I don’t know if you have ever gone rock climbing, but I went for the first time this week as part of a “fun commitment” I made.  This sport will test a climber’s strength, endurance, agility and balance along with his or hers mental control. By the way, this was an indoor event, so it was great for the hot days we are experiencing.  I climb 5 walls and that was all I could do.  My hand, finger and forearm strength were quite tired.

Rock Climbing is a safe and fun sport for all ages.  Testing the skill of all levels from novice to professional climbers.  No equipment is needed in advance, the gym will provide your harness, chalk and shoes.

The Climbing Wall is an structure comprised of shaped climbing rocks that are attached in a random but specific route.  You will secure yourself with a safety harness to a climbing rope, which the second person on the ground “belayer” controls the tension of the rope as you climb to the top.

Benefits of Wall Climbing a thinking challenge, where you will figure out a sequence of moves to complete the route you are climbing.  All muscles groups engage simultaneously, including balance.  You will develop back, fingers, forearms, shoulders, neck, legs and core strength and much more due to many reaches and holds you will do over again throughout the climb. As well cardiovascular and muscular systems, benefits from rock climbing.
